Developers are proposing two separate housing projects on the east end of College Avenue in downtown Appleton.
Both are on the north side of College Avenue.
Deputy Community Development Director Monica Stage says Fore Development would tear down three buildings behind Heid Music. She says the plans call for 36 units and various amenities.
The project would cost $6.2 million. The city is offering TIF incentives of up to 18% of the future value of the development.
One of the buildings that would be torn down is an office building. Another is the home of Appleton Rock School. Stage says that business will announce a new location soon.
Fore Development is also remodeling the former Gabriel Furniture building into apartments called the Gabriel Lofts.
The second development is on the site of a former bank, next to the History Museum at the Castle. Tadych Investment Partners would demolish the building, and replace it with a six-story one.
It would have commercial space on the ground level and 28 apartments above.
That project would cost more than $7 million. The city is offering TIF incentives of up to 20% of the future value.
The city’s community and economic development committee will take up the proposals next week.
