A Democratic congressman from Madison is the first federal lawmaker from the state to call for impeachment proceedings to move forward against President Trump.
In a tweet, Congressman Mark Pocan says the president’s actions have pushed Congress to a point where lawmakers must start an impeachment inquiry. He believes that stonewalling Congress on witnesses, and the unredacted Mueller report, enhances the appearance of guilt.
In 2017, Pocan was one of the first members of Congress to bring up impeachment, but he downplayed that last year.
