Police are hearing reports of phone scams with a caller claiming to be raising money for the family of a fallen Appleton firefighter.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department posted a message on Facebook about the reports.
The only legitimate fundraiser for the family of Driver-Engineer Mitch Lundgaard is through an authorized GoFundMe page. People can also send donations to the Friends of the Appleton Fire Department through Fire Station Number One or drop them off at that station on Drew Street.
