Appleton schools will have a different food provider next school year.
Chartwell’s is getting a five-year contract now that the district’s deal with Aramark is running out.
District Chief Financial Officer Greg Hartjes says four companies put together proposals. He says Chartwell’s is the food service provider in many other local districts, and those districts are happy with the company.
Meal prices will stay the same next year. Hartjes says the district is expected to have about $575,000 left over at the end of the next school years. He says they’ll invest that money in kitchens and cafeteria tables.
