A business group wants Outagamie County leaders to slow down on a proposal for a half-cent sales tax.
The county board could vote on it next Tuesday.
Peter Thillman of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce is asking for more details on how the money would be spent on capital projects. He says Brown County put together a list for its tax.
Thillman also thinks there should be a sunset clause so the tax doesn’t just continue forever without a review. The chamber is asking members to weigh in.
A county study shows the average property taxpayer would save at least 58 dollars a year. That’s because some of the sales tax revenue would be used to lower property taxes.
