In the week since the death of an Appleton firefighter counselors have been available for Driver-Engineer Mitch Lundgaard’s colleagues.
Fire Chief Jeremy Hansen says pastors from the Oshkosh and Green Bay fire departments are helping, along with retired ones. He says department leaders are also working to help the family. Hansen says they’re making sure the family receives all the benefits they’re entitled to.
Hansen spoke with members of the city’s public safety and licensing committee this week. He says the turnout for the processions on the day of Lundgaard’s funeral was “very very humbling.” He adds he truly appreciates the support for the fire department and the Lundgaard family.
