Two men are facing charges after a 44-year-old Illinois man died when a homemade explosive went off.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Sunday night in Marion. Deputies arrested a 38-year-old New London man and a 43-year-old man from Clintonville yesterday. They’re recommending charges of homicide by mishandling dangerous weapons.
Investigators believe the device didn’t light properly and the metal tubing exploded. They say shrapnel struck and killed the victim.
