Ninety-five veterans are back in Wisconsin after a whirlwind visit to the nation’s capital as part of the latest Old Glory Honor Flight.
They left Appleton International Airport in Grand Chute early yesterday morning and hundreds were on hand to greet them when they arrived home around 8:30 p.m.
Ron Reynolds took part in the day. He served in Vietnam and remembers being spit on when he returned home. He appreciated last night’s warm welcome back.
A mix of veterans were on the trip and they served in Vietnam, the Korean War and two served in World War II.
The 51st Old Glory Honor Flight will happen during EAA AirVenture this summer and will take-off and return to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh on July 26.
That will be the sixth annual Yellow Ribbon themed flight for 100 Vietnam veterans.
