The man charged with stabbing Green Bay police K9 Pyro isn’t competent to move forward with the case.
A Brown County Judge made that ruling, after 30-year-old Sai Vang underwent a competency exam.
Vang will now have to undergo mental health treatment.
Prosecutors say police were told Vang is schizophrenic, while they were heading to a home on Western Avenue in April. They say Vang was threatening to shoot his father, and he stabbed Pyro in the neck when police were taking him into custody.
A judge will get an update on Vang’s progress in August.
