Insurance companies are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a building in De Pere last month.
Crews were sifting through the rubble today and they’ll be back tomorrow.
De Pere Fire Chief Alan Matzke says the department is overseeing things. He says they’re trying to pinpoint where the fire started and why. He says once they do that, they’ll start the settlement process, and figure out who has to pay.
The fire leveled the building in the 100 block of South Broadway. It was home to several businesses and apartments.
