Some adults are concerned about their immunization status because of a national measles outbreak.
There are confirmed cases in 26 states but not any in Wisconsin so far. Nearby states like Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa do have several cases.
Doctor Paul Pritchard is the Chief Quality Officer at Prevea Health. He says patients are asking what they should do if they aren’t sure, or if the vaccine wore off.
An MMR vaccine should last a lifetime but it does wear off for a small group of people. Health experts say people can get blood tests done to make sure they’re immune. They say there’s no danger in getting the vaccine as an adult.
