The YMCA of the Fox Cities is getting a $500,000 matching grant to expand the child care center at the Fox West location in Greenville.
The YMCA’s Jan Davey says Mary Beth Nienhaus is offering the money to help finish their fundraising drive. They’re planning to expand their program for 4-K students. She says parents like being able to bring their kids to school in the morning and then have them stay at the “Y’s” child care program for the rest of the day.
Davey says they also want to add a room for infants as young as six weeks. She says there aren’t many licensed day care providers in that area for children that little. The expansion would give the “Y” enough room to serve more than 100 additional children.
