The first free-standing Shopko Optical store is now open.
The retail stores still continue to liquidate but the optical portion was bought out and the company expects to open about 80 free-standing stores across the country before the end of this year.
A grand re-opening event took place yesterday in Neenah.
The new store is on Westowne Drive, on the opposite side of I-41, across from the former store.
Shopko Optical manager Kelly Behrmann says they have the same doctors, opticians and patient files.
She says the only thing that changed is the address.
She says most of the new free-standing locations will be close to the former stores.
