A standoff just east of downtown Fond du Lac is over, and everyone is safe.
A 28-year-old suspect is in custody, after the SWAT team rescued two children.
Police Captain Jason Laridaen says the man had a knife, and he was holding the kids in a home. He says officers went to the house, in the 100 block of E. Johnson Street, around 4:15 a.m. today. He says that officers handled the situation with extreme caution and made sure it was resolved peacefully.
Police say someone called officers because the man was running around naked in the street.
He says there were three kids in an upstairs apartment. One of them escaped.
Police decided to send the SWAT team into the house a little after 9 a.m.
