A head-on crash yesterday morning north of Lomira claimed the life of 53-year-old Abel Rodriguez of Fond du Lac.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s department says he crossed the centerline on Highway 175, near Highway Y in the Town of Byron around 8:15 a.m.
They say he hit an oncoming truck driven by 51-year-old Gary Peters of Theresa.
He was flown to ThedaCare’s Neenah hospital with serious injuries.
Rodriguez , who was wearing a seatbelt died at the scene.
Deputies say Peters was not wearing a seatbelt.
Deputies don’t think alcohol was a factor.
