It’s the last day of school in Appleton and that means the city’s two swimming pools are opening today.
Recreation Programmer Kabel Helmbrecht says they had a big summer a year ago. He says they saw about 65,000 people at Erb Pool last year. He says combined with Mead Pool they saw over 100,000 people.
Helmbrecht says they’ve never reached the 100,000 mark since he started with the city 17 years ago. He’s helping plan several special events including a “Dive-In Movie” and music.
Pollack Community Water Park in Oshkosh opens tomorrow.
