Governor Evers is ordering to fly a rainbow flag over the Capitol to symbolize gay pride.
It’s the first time that’s been done in state history.
Evers says the flag is an important symbol for the LGBTQ community, and flying it sends a clear and unequivocal message that Wisconsin is a welcoming and inclusive place.
Republican Rep. Scott Allen of Waukesha thinks the move is divisive. He believes it advocates a behavior or lifestyle that some people may not condone.
The flag will fly through the end of the month.
