Wisconsin is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the state’s ratification of the constitutional amendment that gives women the right to vote.
A ceremony at the Capitol this morning featured an unveiling of the state’s original 19th Amendment.
Wisconsin was the first state in the country to ratify the amendment, 100 years ago today.
It took until August of 1920 for the final necessary state to follow suit, so women could vote.
Some people dressed as suffragists for the ceremony.
