Teachers and staff leaving Smith Elementary School in Oshkosh know exactly where they’ll be in the fall.
Superintendent Vicki Cartwright says a majority will be moving with the students to Jefferson Elementary. She says they were able to find jobs within the district for all Smith Elementary employees.
The board voted last week to close Smith Elementary, because of its age and condition.
She says teachers and staff will be paid to move their things to Jefferson. They can start setting up their classrooms in early August.
Cartwright says they’ll also have a special open house late in the summer for all families to get to know each other.
