The state high school baseball tournament is back in the Appleton area.
Games started this morning at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
The championships in all four divisions are scheduled for Thursday.
Matt Ten Haken of the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau says they’ve been hosting the WIAA tournament since the late 1990s. He says visitors spend about $250,000 during the tournament.
Ten Haken says some teams and fans are staying in the area for three or four days.
The WIAA has a deal to keep the tournament at Fox Cities Stadium through 2028.
