Research shows certain flavors carry perceptions about whether food is healthy.
UW-Oshkosh Associate Marketing Professor Melissa Bublitz worked on the study. She says if people see a flavor associated with a healthy item, like cough syrup or medicine, they transfer that association toward not-so-healthy things like cheesecake and cookies.
She says cherry, mint, and lemon are some of those flavors.
Bublitz was a guest on Focus Fox Valley on WHBY today.
