There are concerns that some Republicans might not like how much spending is in the proposed budget.
The Legislature’s budget committee finalized its plan last Thursday. It now goes to the Assembly and Senate before landing on the governor’s desk.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos thinks most Republicans will like what they came up with. He’s confident conservatives will agree it’s a good plan for the state, and reasonable with the Democratic governor.
Representative Evan Goyke of Milwaukee is one of four democrats on the committee. He says the plan wasn’t a collaborative effort between liberals and conservatives. Governor Evers could veto part, or all, of the proposed budget.
