The State Bar Association and the law schools at UW-Madison and Marquette University are honoring longtime state Supreme Court Justice Shirley Abrahamson.
There’s a special ceremony at the state Capitol this evening.
The 84-year-old is the longest-serving member in state Supreme Court history, and she was the first female justice.
Abrahamson announced in May of last year that she wouldn’t run for re-election. She revealed in August that she has cancer.
Brian Hagedorn was elected to her spot on the bench in April.
