A group of Somali women who live in Green Bay are sharing their stories of life in the United States.
They unveiled their book yesterday called “The First Winter”.
It’s a collection of stories, poems and reflections about their culture and journey to America.
Zamzam Nur was born in the United States and her story reflects on her journey to Somalia when she was 12 years old.
She just graduated from high school and will be attending U-W Madison.
Nur says after seeing the staffing issues and high infant mortality rate in Somalia .she plans on being a doctor.
She hopes to help fix the problem.
