The reward for information leading to the killer of an off-duty Racine police officer is growing.
The total is now up to about $42,000.
Officer John Hetland was shot Monday night when he tried to stop a robbery at a bar.
Racine Mayor Cory Mason says it’s been over four decades since a Racine officer was killed in the line of duty.
Hetland is the fifth officer in southeast Wisconsin to die in the past year.
