A top lawmaker believes having state and local leaders work together helped get the I-41 expansion and the southern Fox River bridge project in the state budget.
Republican Representative John Nygren of Marinette is the co-chair of the Legislature’s budget committee. He says making it a regional effort was the game changer in the process.
The bridge would cross the Fox River on the south side of De Pere.
The entire project could cost over $100 million.
