The proposed state budget is moving forward.
Majority Republicans in the Assembly passed the two-year plan yesterday.
Speaker Robin Vos thinks it’s fair. He says it’s a conservative budget that funds the state’s priorities. He thinks it’s a good plan for all of Wisconsin.
Democratic Representative Evan Goyke is from Milwaukee. He says Republicans made a hole they can’t fill by rejecting the Medicaid expansion.
Republicans made about 30 changes to the proposed budget before last night’s vote. One would let the automaker Tesla sell cars directly to people in the state.
The Senate is scheduled to take up the budget today.
