The Neenah school district will be getting more hydroponics units.
High School Teacher Emily Bennett says they were the leading vote-getter in a national grant contest from Opal Apples. She says they received $30,000. She says they’re about $4,000 each, so they’ll get seven new units. She says they’ll also use some money to buy supplies.
Bennett says they already have five units in the district and they eventually hope to have 20. Her goal is to be able to grow enough produce to supply the cafeterias at every school.
