Neenah police say the man shot and killed by an officer earlier this week was 43-year-old Shawn Blowers.
They say police were trying to serve a search warrant to Blowers’ apartment for an Internet Crimes Against Children’s Investigation.
The state department of justice says Blowers had a knife and approached police.
Investigators say Neenah Police Investigator Christopher Gorden shot Blowers. Gordon is an 11 year veteran of the department and is on administrative leave.
