A group of business leaders want to end the tuition freeze at UW systems schools in the state.
The freeze is included in the Republican budget that Governor Evers has not approved yet.
Leaders of Badgers United argues it de-values education at UW-Madison. Executive Director Amber Schroeder says what happens at the school creates a ripple effect. She says for every dollar that goes into UW-Madison, 24 dollars go back into the state.
Shroeder thinks ending the freeze would not be bad for students. She says UW system graduates make higher than average salaries that they can use to pay back tuition.
