Some Democratic state lawmakers say they’ll work on a series of bills to protect people from a court challenge of the federal health care reform law.
A federal appeals court is hearing arguments today in a lawsuit filed by 16 states.
Rep. Amanda Stuck of Appleton doesn’t think Democrats should wait for the case to move through the system. She says they can draft the bills quickly, and they could have them ready for the Legislature to possibly consider them in the fall.
Under Republican Governor Scott Walker, Wisconsin was the second state to join the lawsuit.
Governor Evers ordered Attorney General Josh Kaul to pull the state out of the court challenge.
