Two lawmakers are working on a bill that would force Medicaid to cover technology that’s designed to help people in wheelchairs stand up.
Republican Rep. Jeremy Thiesfeldt of Fond du Lac and Democratic Rep. Jimmy Anderson of Fitchburg want to include power seat elevators and power standing components of power wheelchairs.
Anderson is paralyzed from the chest down, and he uses a power wheelchair. He was hurt in 2010 when a drunk driver ran into his family’s car in California.
