People who own homes near the Shipyard project in Green Bay will have a chance to take advantage of the city’s first curb appeal grant program.
The money is coming from Community Development Block Grants and Neighborhood Enhancement Funds and it’s an incentive for people to fix up the outside of their homes.
The city is focusing on the area between Walnut Street and South 6th Street from the Fox River to Ashland Avenue.
Principal planner David Buck hopes people will invest in their own property.
Buck says it’s a matching grant and that means homeowners will have to kick in 25 percent of the money.
Grants will be given out on a first come, first served basis.
