It’s going to cost more for monthly permits for the parking ramps in downtown Appleton, but not as much as city staff proposed.
The city council agreed to raise the rate from $30 to $35, starting next year.
The initial idea was to charge $40 a month. Developer Paul Hoffman thinks that would be too much. He says a 33 percent hike would send a bad message to existing businesses and others considering a move to the downtown.
The $35 fee is expected to bring in an additional $125,000 a year in revenue.
