Green Bay’s police chief says the death of a dog in a car parked at Lambeau Field never should have happened.
A 55-year-old Lawrence woman could face a felony charge of mistreating an animal causing death.
Chief Andrew Smith says the woman left the dog in the car with the windows closed. He says it was about 77 degrees outside at the time.
Police believe the golden retriever was in the car for about three hours.
Smith says there’s no excuse and no reason for what happened. He expects prosecutors to charge the woman in the near future.
