Numbers from the Brown County Traffic Safety Commission show drunk driving arrests are down 27 percent from last year.
That’s thanks in part to programs like SafeRide.
Last night the Green Bay City Council approved another program that will help keep drunk drivers off the roads.
It’s called SafePark.
Brown County Tavern League president Don Mjelde thinks knowing where you can and can’t park at any given time can be a challenge and that’s especially true after a night on the town.
People who want to leave their car parked, while they get a ride home, can put a special voucher on the dashboard.
A bartender will fill out the voucher and call the city’s traffic division to let them know.
This exempts them from parking restrictions between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.
City officials say regular parking rules will apply after that.
