It’s the “Salute to Veterans” day at EAA AirVenture, and people will welcome home Vietnam veterans this afternoon.
One-hundred-fifteen vets are on a special Old Glory Honor Flight that left from Oshkosh this morning.
The organization’s Chris Berkers says they’ll visit the war memorials in Washington D.C. Their plane is scheduled to land in Oshkosh at the end of this afternoon’s air show.
After that, there will be a big welcome home celebration at AirVenture. Berkers says it’s something that Vietnam veterans haven’t experienced before, so it’s always a moving experience.
