A woman is charged in Marinette County with hiding her mother’s body to keep collecting money from her social security checks and other benefits.
Prosecutors say Paula Bergold put the body of 89-year-old Ruby Bergold in a plastic tub, and kept it in the basement of Ruby’s home in the Town of Peshtigo. They say a neighbor hadn’t seen Ruby since May.
They say Paula found her dead in a chair in the house, and she couldn’t bring herself to call police.
