The attorney for convicted murderer Steven Avery is filing a lengthy argument for a new trial.
In the 135-page brief, Kathleen Zellner raises 10 points that she wants the court to consider with either a new trial or evidentiary hearings.
Most of the arguments claim that a Sheboygan County judge wrongly denied Avery’s numerous other motions of appeal.
Zellner also argues that the discovery of potential human bones in a Manitowoc County gravel pit was withheld from Avery’s initial defense team. She thinks that represents an act of “bad faith” by prosecutors.
Avery is serving a life prison sentence for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
A state court of appeals will consider the latest request.
