Outagamie County officials will take steps to improve safety at an intersection east of Freedom.
There have now been five accidents at Highways S and J in the past year.
Highway Commissioner Dean Steingraber says they will likely add some warnings like more signs and rumble strips. He says it’s difficult to find one solution, because there hasn’t been a pattern in the causes of the crashes.
The most recent one yesterday morning took the life of a Shiocton woman. Deputies say she ran a stop sign and hit a semi. Three weeks ago, a 70-year-old Neenah woman was killed when she pulled out in front of a pickup truck, after stopping at the intersection.
