Winnebago County board members will find little wiggle room in the proposed budget.
County Executive Mark Harris says they’re maxed on property tax revenue for 2020. He says if supervisors want to add something, they’d have to remove something, or dip into the county’s savings to pay for it.
Harris believes property tax bills will be relatively flat. He says the 19-cent reduction in the tax rate would be offset by increased property values.
The Winnebago County Board will continue to work on the budget today.
