The newest judge in Outagamie County hopes to stay on the job.
Judge Emily Lonergan is going to run for a six-year term in the spring. Governor Evers appointed her in August.
Lonergan says like many judges, she’s concerned about recidivism and keeping the community safe for everyone.
She specialized in criminal defense and personal injury cases for a law firm, before she joined the bench. Lonergan believes her experience in different areas of the law has helped in the transition to becoming a judge.
She replaced retired Judge Nancy Krueger.
