A rare history book lost by a local World War II vet was found.
Earlier this week we told you about Lloyd Ellefson leaving his copy of “After Five, Plus One” on the roof of his car when leaving his house along Richmond Street last month.
The book tells the story of Ellefson’s Army unit, the 93rd Armored Field Artillery, and its campaigns in Europe.
Kurt Kemps came across the book later that day. He picked it up and kept it on his counter at home for a couple of weeks, before giving it to a friend’s son.
Then he heard our story about Ellefson and the lost book.
He was able to get it back, and he dropped off the book at the WHBY studios Thursday afternoon.
We have the book and Ellefson is stopping by Friday to pick it up.
