The proposed design for an intersection along Highway CE in Kimberly would be the first-of-its-kind in the Fox Valley.
Outagamie County is considering what’s called an “RCUT” plan, or Restricted Crossing U-Turn.
Highway Commissioner Dean Steingraber says drivers on Railroad Street would only be able to turn right onto Highway CE. But he says they would build U-Turn lanes nearby, on Highway CE, so those drivers could get where they want to go.
Steingraber says there are concerns about safety, and the seriousness of crashes, for drivers trying to cross Highway CE.
The county wants to hear what people think about the plan.
Construction isn’t expected to start for at least two years.
