UW-Oshkosh will offer early retirement packages to staff at all three campuses, in hopes of reducing costs and reshaping programs.
The school was hit with a decline in enrollment this year.
Chancellor Andrew Leavitt says about 300 workers are eligible, and they expect to only cut 40 to 50 positions.
UWO is dealing with a $1.2 million budget gap for this year. Next year, it’s projected to be $4.1 million.
Leavitt says the changes are part of a longer-term strategy at the Oshkosh, Fox Cities, and Fond du Lac campuses.
