The percentage of people’s income that’s going toward state and local taxes in Wisconsin is the lowest in at least 50 years.
The Wisconsin Policy Forum reports the amount was 10.3 percent last year. That’s down 0.1 percent from 2018.
Researcher Jason Stein says it’s also the eighth straight year of decline. He credits rising incomes and a strong economy.
