More of the old buildings on the former Kimberly paper mill site will be torn down.
That includes the tower along the riverfront.
Village Administrator Dani Block says they studied the possibility of incorporating them into a project, but it wasn’t feasible. She says the developer plans to keep the footprints intact, and incorporate the basements into new buildings.
A portion of a building north of Main Street will stay, and become a restaurant.
The village board approved a nearly $930,000 demolition contract. Block expects work will start next month and crews will be done in July.
The village is working on a development agreement for that part of the mill site.
