The number of people getting a flu shot in the state is on pace to set a record.
Tom Haupt of the Department of Health Services says 38 percent are vaccinated. The total for the last flu season was 40 percent. Haupt says that doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s the highest total in their records.
Haupt says almost all of the counties are between 30 and 40 percent. He’s encouraged that more urban areas, like Brown County, are around 40 percent.
Outagamie County’s rate is at 40 percent, Winnebago is at 36 percent, and Calumet is at 34 percent.
