The district attorney in Winnebago County is clearing two police officers for the shooting death of a man in Fox Crossing.
The state justice department says 35-year-old Michael Jolly walked out of his house with a rifle, during a standoff last November. Investigators say Jolly pointed the gun at the officers, before they opened fire.
They believe Jolly was having issues with depression. He was arrested several hours earlier for driving drunk. It was his second OWI arrest in a little more than a week.
