The push to replace special assessments in Oshkosh with a “transportation utility fee” might gain more traction.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says their projected rates for assessments will rise by 11 to 15 percent, if they stay in place. He says construction costs are rising.
The Oshkosh Common Council is considering a plan to eliminate special assessments for street projects, and replace it with a transportation utility fee. It would cost homeowners $8 a month, and $50 dollars a month for commercial properties.
